We prepare it on the correct wording and tell you where to have it commissioned. If you are above R10 million we say so and point you to a SANAS accredited agency instead of selling you a document that will not hold.

A straight answer on your PSiRA and COIDA positionBoth are checked before anything else, because both disqualify a bid on their own. If your PSiRA registration has lapsed or your COIDA letter of good standing is out of date, we tell you in writing on day one rather than after you have paid for the rest.

What this costs in total

SARS and CSD charge nothing. A tax compliance PIN is free on eFiling and CSD registration is free at csd.gov.za.
Commissioning the affidavit is free at a police station or any commissioner of oaths. Certified copies are free at a police station.
COIDA is separate if you need it. First time registration is R1 290 and a letter of good standing renewal is R690. The Compensation Fund raises its own annual assessment on top, with a minimum of roughly R1 621 for 2026/27.

Why this is not the Tender Starter bundle

We sell a Tender Starter bundle at R3 290 and it is the wrong product for you. That one is built for construction contractors and its biggest component is CIDB Grade 1 registration, which governs public construction work. A guarding company has no use for a CIDB grade and should not pay for one.

This pack drops CIDB and puts the money into the two things a security bid actually gets asked for instead: the B-BBEE affidavit and the compliance document folder. If you do both guarding and construction, tell us and we will price the combination rather than selling you two overlapping packs.

What we will need from you

Your company registration number and your PSiRA business registration number.
Your SARS income tax reference number, and confirmation that a registered representative is in place on eFiling.
Your banking details for CSD verification. The account name has to match the registered company name or the verification will not clear, which is the single most common reason a CSD registration stalls.
Your yearly turnover, which decides whether a sworn affidavit is enough or whether you need a verified B-BBEE certificate.
The ownership breakdown, since the affidavit states black ownership percentage and it has to be accurate. A false affidavit is a criminal offence, not a technicality.
Identity documents for the directors, which go into the folder certified.

What this pack will not do

What does a security company need to bid for a government guarding contract?

A valid PSiRA registration certificate for the business, registration on the Central Supplier Database, a SARS tax compliance status PIN, a COIDA letter of good standing and a B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit. Beyond that the bid document itself asks for a standard set of forms and proofs. This pack covers the four that are not PSiRA and not COIDA, and tells you honestly where you stand on those two.

Is this the same as the Tender Starter bundle?

No. The Tender Starter bundle at R3 290 is built for construction contractors and includes CIDB Grade 1 registration, which security companies do not need. This pack drops CIDB and adds the B-BBEE affidavit and the bid document folder instead, which is what a guarding company actually gets asked for.

Do I need a B-BBEE certificate to bid?

If your yearly turnover is R10 million or less you are an exempted micro enterprise and a sworn affidavit is your B-BBEE certificate. You do not need to buy a certificate from a verification agency. Above R10 million you need a verified certificate from a SANAS accredited agency, which is not something we issue, and we will tell you so rather than sell you the affidavit anyway.

What if my PSiRA registration is not current?

Then fix that before you spend anything on this pack. A lapsed or suspended PSiRA registration disqualifies the bid outright and no amount of tender paperwork rescues it. We check your status on PSiRA’s public register as the first step and tell you in writing before the rest of the work starts.

Does this pack write the bid for me?

No. It gets the compliance documents that every bid asks for into one folder, correctly certified and in date, so you are not scrambling three days before closing. The pricing, the method statement and the decision about which tenders to chase are yours. We do not write bid narratives and we do not promise that any bid will be won.

How long does it take?

A tax compliance PIN is usually 1 to 5 business days. CSD depends on how quickly the live verifications against CIPC, SARS and your bank clear, and a bank account name that does not match the registered company name is the single most common reason it stalls. The affidavit and the document folder are quick once the other two are through. Start at least three weeks before a closing date you care about.
