Where do you stand

Competency certificate Section 10(2): competency lapses 5 years after issue.

Section 13 self-defence licence The limit under this section is one, full stop.

Section 14 restricted self-defence licence Semi-automatic rifle or shotgun. Limit of one.

Section 15 occasional hunting and sport licences held Maximum four, or three if you hold a section 13 licence.

Of those, how many are handguns Section 15(3)(c) allows only one handgun under this section.

Additional licences held under section 12 Issued to somebody living on the same premises. These reduce your section 15 allowance.

Accredited association membership Section 16 dedicated status has no fixed numerical limit.

This tool applies sections 13, 14, 15, 16, 27 and 91 of the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000 to the answers you give it. It does not check the Central Firearms Register, and it cannot tell you whether the Registrar will grant an application, which also turns on need, motivation and a fit and proper assessment.
