Limited authority, in writing.
For UIF and Compensation Fund administration, ProperSA works only with the authority needed for the agreed task. The employer remains in control of its account, information and statutory obligations.
UIF practitioner mandate
Before ProperSA registers or uses uFiling for an employer, we obtain a written mandate. It identifies the employer and authorised representative, names the agreed UIF task, and authorises ProperSA to act through appropriate practitioner or delegated access.
- Limited scopeRegistration, declarations, employee updates, deregistration or another specifically named task.
- Employer informationThe employer confirms that the employee, remuneration, hours and employment information supplied is complete and accurate.
- Proper accessProperSA uses practitioner or delegated access. We do not ask for or retain client login credentials as the normal operating model.
- Separate Department stepsThe employer still completes any uFiling activation, verification or approval that the Department requires.
Compensation Fund Power of Attorney
For Compensation Fund representation, the Department may require a Power of Attorney. Where needed, ProperSA prepares a limited document for the employer’s authorised signatory to approve before the account work begins.
- What it can coverNamed account enquiries, document delivery, Return of Earnings administration, registration details, statement requests, submission and follow-up for the agreed matter.
- What it cannot coverChanging bank details, making payments, accepting a settlement, accepting legal liability, or work outside the written scope.
- Department requirements remain separateThe Fund may still require supporting records, an audit response, verification or action by the employer or director.
For professional referrals
An accountant, bookkeeper, HR consultant or other professional can refer an employer matter to ProperSA. We confirm the scope, obtain the end client’s appropriate mandate or Power of Attorney, and then handle the agreed administration. A referring professional’s authority does not automatically authorise ProperSA to act for the employer.
What you remain responsible for
You remain responsible for the underlying obligation, the accuracy of your records, UIF and Compensation Fund payments, and any personal action requested by a Department. ProperSA provides administrative compliance support, not legal, accounting, payroll or tax-practitioner services.
