You are already on the register and a tender has come up outside the classes you hold. This adds them. It is a returning client price, because adding a class to a record that already exists is a smaller job than setting one up from nothing.

Take the classes you need now, add the rest later
Every class of works carries its own CIDB fee, whether you ever bid in it or not. Registering all nine at the start because it feels safer is the most common way contractors waste money on the register.
The cheaper habit is to hold the classes that match the work you are chasing today, then add one when a tender actually calls for it. This service exists so that second step does not cost you the same as the first.

What we will need from you
- Your CRS number, the CIDB contractor registration number you already hold.
- Your CSD supplier number, the one starting MAAA.
- The classes you want, or the tender document, or a plain description of the work and we map it.
- Your tax compliance status PIN, so the status can be verified before submission.
- For electrical building work, the electrical contractor’s certificate in the company name.
Frequently asked questions
Why is this cheaper than a first registration?
Because it is less work. On a first registration we set up the record, check your CSD number, verify your tax compliance status and choose your classes from scratch. Adding a class to a registration that already exists reuses all of that. R690 reflects the actual job rather than charging you the full price twice.
What does the CIDB charge on top?
Their own administration fee for each class you add. R450 per class at Grade 1 and R750 per class from Grade 3 up. It is paid to the CIDB, not to us, it is not refundable, and we confirm the exact total in writing before anything is submitted.
Should I just register every class at the start instead?
No, and this is where contractors quietly overspend. Every class carries its own CIDB fee whether you ever bid in it or not. Take the classes that match the work you are actually chasing now, win some of it, and add more when a tender calls for it. That is what this service is for.
How long does adding a class take?
At Grade 1 a complete application activates within 48 working hours, the same as a first registration. From Grade 2 up the CIDB assesses the application and that can take up to 21 days, because your track record has to support the class you are adding.
Can I add a class my track record does not support?
At Grade 1 there is no qualifying criteria, so no evidence is needed. From Grade 2 up the CIDB wants a completed contract in the class you are applying for, so adding a class you have never worked in will not carry at your current grade. We tell you that before you spend rather than after.
Do I have to have registered with you originally?
No. If another provider did your original registration, or you did it yourself, we can still add classes to it. We just need your CRS number and your CSD number to work from.
