Retrieve your CIPC company documents
The bank wants the registration certificate, the tender wants the MOI, and the folder they were in went missing years ago. Everything CIPC has ever issued for your company sits in its records, and most of it can be re-issued the same day. The rest lives in an archive that takes patience. We get either for you and deliver a set that banks and tenders accept. Fixed price, in writing.
Independent paperwork service. ProperSA is an independent private company, not CIPC. A director with a CIPC customer code can generate the certificate and MOI on eServices and buy a disclosure certificate for R30. Our fee pays for doing it correctly, confirming what the reader will accept, and chasing archived files that CIPC has to locate by hand.
Two services, depending on how old the company is
- Registration certificate, MOI and disclosure certificate, R690For a company on CIPC’s electronic systems. The CoR14.3 registration certificate and the memorandum of incorporation are generated from CIPC’s records, and a current disclosure certificate is issued showing the directors, the registered address, the financial year end and the status. CIPC’s R30 disclosure fee is inside the price. Delivered to your portal, usually the same business day.
- Archived founding documents, R1 290For a close corporation or a company registered before CIPC’s electronic platforms, whose CK1 and CK2, or old CM forms, exist only in CIPC’s physical archive. We lodge the records request with CIPC, chase it, and deliver the scanned documents with a current disclosure certificate. CIPC has to find and scan a physical file, so this takes weeks and for the oldest files months; we tell you the realistic timing before you pay.
What is included in both
- Confirmation of which documents your reader actually needs, so you are not chasing an original when a current disclosure certificate is what they will accept
- The documents obtained from CIPC and saved in your client portal in PDF
- A current disclosure certificate, which is what proves the directors and status today and which any bank or tender can verify online with CIPC
- A note of anything the disclosure certificate shows that needs fixing, such as a director who left, an old address or annual returns in arrears
How ordering works
- Order online with the registration number and tell us which documents you need and who is asking for them.
- We confirm whether your company is on the electronic system or in the archive, and which service applies. If you paid for the wrong one, we adjust it before any work starts.
- The documents land in your portal: the same business day for electronic re-issues, and as CIPC releases them for archived files.
Not sure which applies to you? Ask us first and you get a written answer within one business day.
What we will need from you
- The company or close corporation registration number, and the name as registered.
- Confirmation that you are a current director or member, with your identity number, which we check against the CIPC record before we act.
- Which documents you need and who is asking: a bank, a tender, a buyer, an attorney. It decides what we obtain.
- For an archived file, anything you remember about the original registration: the year, the old CM or CK numbers if you have them, the original name.
Frequently asked questions
Which documents can be re-issued straight away?
For a company registered on CIPC’s electronic systems, the registration certificate CoR14.3 and the memorandum of incorporation are generated from CIPC’s records under Certificates and Disclosures on eServices, and a disclosure certificate showing the current directors, address and status is issued for CIPC’s R30 fee. That is the R690 service and it is usually done the same business day.
My company or CC is old and the certificate is not on the system. What then?
Close corporations and companies registered before CIPC’s electronic platforms hold their founding documents, the CK1 and CK2 or the old CM forms, in CIPC’s archive. Those are requested from CIPC’s records and can take weeks, and for the oldest files months, because a physical file has to be located and scanned. That is the R1 290 service, and we tell you before you pay if your registration falls into it.
Will the bank accept a re-issued certificate?
Banks and tenders generally want two things: the registration certificate and a current disclosure certificate, which proves who the directors are today and that the company is in business. Both come from CIPC and both are verifiable online by the reader, which is why we include the disclosure certificate rather than sending a certificate alone. Some readers insist on the CIPC certified version, which is what we obtain.
Can anyone request my company’s documents?
Disclosure certificates are public information and anyone can buy one for any company. The certificate and MOI re-issue is done on CIPC eServices under a customer code, and we act on the instruction of a current director or member, which we confirm before we start.

This is an administrative service performed on the instruction of a current director or member. Documents are issued by CIPC from its own records, and CIPC’s timing for archived files is outside our control. ProperSA does not give legal advice on the documents’ contents.
