Prove your business is real, before they ask
South Africans have learned to distrust unknown businesses, and honest small businesses pay the price in lost sales. ProperSA Verified checks the things a careful customer would check, then gives you a public page and badge that shows the result. R490 a year.
The six checks
- Identity: the applying owner's certified ID matched against the CIPC director record
- CIPC status: a fresh disclosure confirming the company is In Business, with its directors on record
- Beneficial ownership: the CIPC ownership filing exists and is current
- Tax standing: a valid SARS tax compliance PIN, verified on the day
- Bank account: a bank confirmation letter in the company name, issued within 3 months. We confirm the name match only and never publish or keep the account number
- Reachability: a working phone answered as the business, and an address stated consistently across CIPC, your site and your application
What you get
- A hosted public verification page: company name, registration number, checks passed, verification date and badge number
- The Verified badge for your website, invoices, WhatsApp Business profile and social pages, linking to your page
- An annual refresh, with reminders before your verification lapses
- If a check fails: a written explanation, a fix path, and a free recheck within 60 days. If identity or CIPC status cannot be verified at all, a full refund
Honest scope: this is a point in time verification of registers, documents and reachability. It proves your business is real and reachable on the date checked; it is not a guarantee of conduct, and the public page says so.
Frequently asked questions
What does ProperSA Verified actually check?
Six things: owner identity against the CIPC director record, live CIPC status, the beneficial ownership filing, a valid tax compliance PIN, a bank confirmation letter in the company name, and reachability. Pass all six and the page and badge are issued.
Is the badge a guarantee of the business?
No. It is a point in time verification refreshed annually. It proves the business is real, registered, tax compliant and reachable on the date checked, not how it will behave tomorrow, and the public page says so plainly.
What happens if my business fails a check?
A written explanation of what failed and how to fix it, a free recheck within 60 days once fixed, and a full refund if identity or CIPC status cannot be verified at all.
What does it cost?
R490 a year: the checks, the hosted public page, the badge files and the annual refresh with reminders.
