Company changes at CIPC

Directors come and go, offices move, names change. Each of these must be filed at CIPC or your records drift out of date and bite you at the bank or in a tender. Fixed price per change, filed and confirmed in writing.

Why keep CIPC current

Banks run CIPC checks at FICA reviews, tenders verify directors against the record, and official notices go to your registered address. A stale record is not a technicality - it is failed verification at the moment it matters. Each change also ripples into your beneficial ownership register, which we update as part of the filing where affected.

How ordering works

  1. Order online, choose the change, and answer the short questionnaire.
  2. We prepare the resolutions and forms, collect certified IDs where CIPC requires them, and file.
  3. Confirmation and updated documents land in your client portal.

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove or add a director at CIPC?

The company passes a resolution, then files the change at CIPC with certified IDs. We prepare both and file in one pass; the same filing can add and remove directors together.

How long does a company name change take?

Typically 7 to 10 business days: the new name is reserved first, then the change is filed and CIPC reissues your registration certificate under the new name.

Does changing directors affect beneficial ownership?

If the change affects who ultimately owns or controls 5% or more, the beneficial ownership register must be refiled within 10 business days. Where your change triggers that, we update it as part of the job.

What documents do I need?

Certified ID copies of affected directors, and for a name change your preferred names in order. The questionnaire collects everything in one pass.
