PSiRA officer registration
Every person who renders a security service for you must be registered in their own name, and section 23 of the Act disqualifies more candidates than most employers expect. We check each person against the statutory requirements before submission, so you are not paying for training and registration on somebody who cannot lawfully hold the job.

How ordering works
- Order online with the button below, choosing the number of officers.
- Complete the questionnaire in your client portal with each officer's details. One form covers the batch.
- We screen each candidate against section 23 and come back in writing on anyone who cannot be registered, before any PSiRA fee is spent on them.
- We submit the registrations on ePSiRA and return the registration numbers, grades and expiry dates.
- PSiRA's own registration fee of R310 per officer on the 2026/27 schedule is paid at cost and shown separately. Training is charged by your accredited provider and is not part of this service.

Frequently asked questions
Can you register a foreign national as a security officer?
Only if they hold permanent residence. Section 23(1)(a) allows registration for South African citizens and permanent residents only, and a work visa, critical skills visa or asylum permit does not qualify a person, even where it entitles them to work in other industries. We check this first and tell you before any money is spent.
Do you provide the training?
No. Grades E to A must be completed at an accredited training provider, and that is charged separately by them. This service is the registration step that follows the training, which is a different thing and the one that makes an officer lawful on your site.
How much does it cost per officer in total?
R390 to us plus PSiRA's own registration fee of R310 per officer at cost, on the 2026/27 schedule. A new certificate of competency is a further R75 where required. Training fees are separate and charged by your provider.
Can you check officers we already employ?
Yes. If you want existing staff verified rather than newly registered, say so on the questionnaire and we will confirm registration status, grade and expiry with PSiRA and return a written record. That is worth having on file before an inspection rather than after one.
What if a candidate does not qualify?
You get a written explanation of which requirement they fail and whether it is permanent or fixable, and you are not charged the PSiRA fee for that person. Our free guard eligibility checker screens the same requirements before you even make an offer.
